Reminger provides claims repair service for Alta Pro insureds.

Congratulations to Reminger LPA for being honored as a great place to work.

The firm was selected by The Plain Dealer as a “Top Workplace in Northeast Ohio” among Midsized Companies for the eleventh consecutive year.

“We are proud of being recognized,” says Reminger Managing Partner Stephen E. Walters in this press release. “We have received this honor for 11 years running and we never take it for granted. We are grateful to our staff who remain the firm’s most reliable and trusted asset.”

The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey. Reminger has fourteen offices located throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Employees from the Cleveland, Akron, and Sandusky offices participated in the region-wide survey.

Paul R. Shugar and Joseph S. Simms Honored

Paul R. Shugar has been selected as Chairperson of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s (CMBA) Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law Section. He recently started his one-year term for the CMBA section that provides articles, CLE programs, lunch meetings, and pro bono/community service as part of their programming efforts to engage membership. Leading up to his appointment as Chairperson, Paul served as Vice-Chair and Treasurer for the section.

As a member of Reminger’s Probate Litigation Department, Paul has trial experience litigating million-dollar estate, trust, and guardianship issues such as undue influence, power of attorney abuse, and financial exploitation. An award-winning journalist who worked at daily newspapers around the country before becoming a lawyer, Paul employs the writing and investigation skills he developed as a reporter to help people in a legal setting.

Paul is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association.

Joseph S. Simms has been re-appointed as Co-Chair of the Securities Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association’s Litigation Section for the 2021-2022 bar year.

Joe is the Chair of Reminger’s Broker-Dealer and Investment Advisor Regulatory Compliance and Enforcement Practice Group, and a senior member of the Financial Services, Securities Litigation, Commercial Litigation and Estates, Trusts and Probate Litigation groups. In his nationwide practice, Joe represents public and private companies and individuals in the financial services, banking, brokerage, insurance, real estate, manufacturing, and construction industries in a wide array of cases involving breach of contract and fraud claims, issues relating to claims of unfair competition and trade secrets violations, and general tort litigation.

His primary focus is complex securities litigation and arbitration, financial institution litigation, compliance consulting, regulatory investigations and inquiries, and broker-dealer liability defense, in which he represents broker-dealers, investment advisors, banks, and insurance companies and their licensed and registered personnel in claims involving allegations of professional misconduct. His background in business litigation and representing financial services providers also translates well into his experience in matters of estate and trust litigation.
