Alta Pro is thrilled to present one of the nation’s foremost cybersecurity lawyers at our July 13 webinar The Cyberthreat 2023 Landscape: Mid-Year Report.

Jamey Davidson is a partner in the Chicago office of O’Hagan Meyer. When it comes to cybersecurity and the law office, Jamey has worn a myriad of hats over the years: from legal malpractice defense counsel to ransomware hostage negotiator.

Jamey heads O’Hagan Meyer’s Cyber Liability and Data Privacy Practice Group in Chicago. In that capacity, Jamey represents insurance companies as well as their insureds in Cyber Liability matters ranging from ransomware matters to cybercrime matters wherein he acts as Breach Coach and Privacy Counsel to large and small companies to assist in responding to cyberattacks and cyber threats. Further, he acts as monitoring counsel for domestic and London based cyber liability carriers for matters all over the country and has successfully negotiated many ransom and extortion payments and worked to recover funds that were stolen in cybercrime schemes.

Jamey also has a large litigation practice that includes representing companies in class action data breach litigation. Further, he often represents nursing homes and extended care facilities in cases regarding the care and treatment of residents as well as physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice cases. Jamey also routinely represents condominium associations and other common interest community associations and their board members in both a general counsel capacity as well as defense counsel. Additionally, Jamey represents lawyers, accountants, real estate agents and brokers and all other types of professionals in professional liability matters and counsels employers and individuals in employment and commercial disputes.

Jamey also frequently lectures on cyber liability and cyber liability insurance issues. Further, Jamey has been published and frequently lectures on ethical issues and legal responsibilities of lawyers. He has written and lectured on damages in legal malpractice actions, on conforming law firm websites to the Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct and on issues of attorney-client privilege and client confidentiality.
